As the Lunar New Year comes to an end we are learning of tightening restrictions and testing in the busiest ports of China. Not surprisingly the largest holiday in China has led to increased spikes of Covid cases.
According to Bloomberg, China has taken swift action and imposed extensive lockdowns to small outbreaks, and this has repeatedly stopped the domestic spread of Covid-19. However, there is increasing concern that these regulations will add delays to existing backlogs of thousands of shipments.
While we are better prepared to face incoming delays, it is important to note that these issues will persist into the greater part of 2022. Currently shipping from China to the USA is triple the cost and time in comparison to pre-Covid years.
Multiple sources have stated that the worst of the logistics crisis is coming to an end and we expect some normalcy towards the summer time. Despite the challenges everyone is facing, we will continue to work together to provide the best possible service and quality. Find out more at bloomberg.com
